Bad Bunny Makes Playboy History

Updated: Jan 28, 2021

Bad Bunny is the perfect man to make Playboy history. Here is why.

The Puerto Rican artist Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio aka Bad Bunny is not shy about his public image. He recently graced our timelines with his latest hit "Yo Perrero Sola" where he pulled out all the drag stops to make it clear to the world that he doesn't give a fuck. He loves getting manicures that give Cardi B's nail lady a run for her money, and he challenges the machismo culture every Hispanic man faces. He is one of the most open and outspoken artists of Hip Hop and Movimiento today.

Everyone is free to see it as they want and do it with whoever they want, however they want, with infinite possibilities. In the end, we are human beings. Everybody feels, everybody falls in love with whoever they're meant to,” he expressed.

Although, Bad Bunny has been M.I.A from his social since May 19th, the Puerto Rican star has been surprising us more and more. From a Rolling Stone cover shot by his girlfriend Gabriela Berlingeri to this pre-COVID-19 historical Playboy cover, we are constantly left wondering what is next from the Hip Hop star. What makes this particular cover so unique is the fact that in the brand's 66-year lifespan Benito and Hugh Hefner are the only men to grace the cover solo. This is also the second digital cover racked up by Bad Bunny.

During his hiatus, a movement erupted. The loss of countless Black lives at the hands of the police had millions hitting the streets in protest. People questioned where Bad Bunny was since he is generally very passionate about speaking up against inequality. Finally, in an exclusive interview with TIME, he told them:

At the moment, we are working on where to contribute seriously, economically and humanely, using the resources we have to support and in some way be part of the #BlackLivesMatter movement.”

He looks forward to contributing much more from the heart. In this Playboy interview titled "Bad Bunny Is Not Playing God" the 26-year old rapper opens up about his career, upcoming albums, and life as an ally for the LQBTQIA+ community in the world of Latin Hip Hop & Reggaeton. Shot in Miami, Bad Bunny poses as a Greek God with his nails decorated with jewels and little playboy bunny logos around his lips and cheeks.
